Your outing

Day 1 :  

• Welcome and course introduction at Champex
• Ascent to cabane d’Orny
• Climbing school at Orny: rock climbing techniques, knot tying, rock belaying, placing removable protections (friends and nuts)
• Overnight at Orny

Day 2 :

• Ridge progression: rock climbing techniques, belaying, cliff climbing, building anchors, and introduction to multi-pitch climbing
• Trip planning: 3×3 method, decision-making, and key passages
• Overnight at Orny

Day 3 :

• Ascent of Aiguille d’Arpette: ideal ridge climb to apply rock progression techniques
• Ascent to cabane Trient
• Simple trip planning and weather analysis
• Overnight at Trient

Day 4 :

• Glacier progression: crampon techniques, ice axe use, short roping on snow, snow and ice anchors, crevasse rescue, self-rescue
• Ascent of Roc des Plines
• Complete trip planning for the next day
• Overnight at Trient

5ème jour :

• Ascent of Aiguilles du Tour or Tête Blanche: ideal climb to practice glacier, snow, and ridge progression
• Return to Champex and course conclusion

This program will be adapted by the guide according to mountain conditions and the levels and preferences of the participants.
