Immerse yourself in a charming corner of Italy, nestled between Valais and Ticino: the Alpe Devero. Situated at 1,640 meters, this idyllic village provides the perfect setting for a week of ski touring. Surrounded by larch forests and alpine peaks, explore varied routes tailored to your preferences, all within a preserved and authentic atmosphere.

Your base camp will be the Agriturismo di Crampiolo, where warm hospitality and traditional Italian cuisine will add a unique flavor to your stay. This star-shaped touring format allows you to enjoy each day with a light pack, focusing fully on the joy of skiing and discovery.

Clothing:

  • Waterproof and breathable jacket (Goretex type) with hood

  • Survival blanket
  • Headlamp (charged)
  • Waterproof pouch with ID, CAS membership card if applicable, cash, insurance documents, and public transport pass
  • Day’s picnic and snacks (picnic can also be purchased at the refuge)
  • Personal first aid kit
  • For overnight in the hut: sleeping liner, thermal top and spare socks, cleansing wipes (as water is not always available in huts), small toiletry kit

Technical and rescue gear:

  • Skis with touring bindings, skins, ski crampons, and poles with large baskets for off-piste skiing
  • Ski touring boots
  • Avalanche transceiver (3 antennas minimum and marking function), shovel, and probe
  • Harness, crampons (with anti-snow plates), and ice axe

Your outing

Day 1:
Travel from Switzerland to Alpe Devero via the Simplon Pass (about 3 hours from Martigny – Verbier). Start your adventure with a climb up Monte Cazzola (2,330m) using the ski lifts, followed by approximately 200m of ascent on skins. Enjoy a beautiful descent to Alpe Devero, then a short 30-minute climb to reach the Agriturismo di Crampiolo.

Day 2:
Head towards Punta Marani (3,108m), also known as Schwarzhorn, a peak that marks the border between the Binntal in Switzerland and Italy.

Day 3:
Explore Pizzo Bandiera (2,750m), a peak offering a spectacular panorama over the entire Alpe Devero cirque.

Day 4:
Conclude your stay with the ascent of Pizzo Cervandone (3,210m), before returning to Martigny – Verbier in the late afternoon, with memories to last a lifetime.
