Already enjoy ski touring but want to better understand mountain conditions and learn how to plan your own outings? This three-day course will help you gain the essential knowledge and skills to become more independent.

Alongside a certified mountain guide, you’ll discover how the snowpack forms and evolves, how to interpret avalanche forecasts and how to identify the main risk factors in the mountains.

You’ll also learn how to read winter maps, plan suitable routes and use various decision-making tools. Each day will give you the opportunity to put what you’ve learned directly into practice in different mountain areas selected according to the conditions.

The goal is not simply to learn how to follow a route, but to begin understanding why certain decisions are more appropriate than others.
