The Great Gobi, Mongolia

By Marie Berazategui, accompanying person

Two dreamy weeks in The land of the Blue sky : from the 28th august to the 12th september, I have taken a small group to discover a small part of The Great Gobi, in Mongolia

Over

1000 km together withMongolian friends with whom I have been travelling for about ten years.

Hiking, horse and camel riding, four wheel drive seeing the distances needing to be covered.

We have met some nomad families who have hosted us and let us in on their way of life. It is quite astouning to witness so much calm and softness compared to the harshness of their life.

Incredible too to realise that a lot of their traditions have been perpetrated for centuries and survived the fall of their empire and the various invasions of their Chinese and Russian neighbours.

It’s a trip that will most certainly leave a strong and lasting impression despite the conditions not always being easy… The return to the Alps is of course magical but it’s crazy how we get quickly used to those vast lands with no barriers !
